Brisbane Aurora Chapter
Founded in 2010, the BBC is an association of erudite and forward-thinking beef and wine aficionados who have selflessly dedicated one Thursday a month to pursue Brisbane’s best steak and red wine.
Each month, a different pair of beef and wine connoisseurs are entrusted with the title of Beef Master and Wine Keeper and must select a venue with a suitable pedigree in beef and wine for the monthly meating.
To ensure that all BBC members discerning tastes are accommodated, all prospective members are strictly screened and must pass a five stage test before being eligible to serve as an officer of the BBC.
The monthly venue should be able to accommodate the three goals of the BBC fine wine, great meat and better conviviality. Members in attendance assess the wine and beef served to them and rate the venue against previous venues, with the aim to be to find the years best venue. Members are also assessed on their ability to pick the variety, year and region of the evenings wine as well as the key attributes of the evenings meat.
With a proud history and an admirable cross-section of members from a range of diverse backgrounds, the BBC continues to be Brisbane’s foremost beef and wine appreciation society.
As always, In Beef et Vinum mos Fides.
