For May’s meating the team of Peasant (http://peasant.com.au/) took Brisbane members on a culinary journey to the Spanish northeast coast.  Many members started this adventure with a number of Estrella Damm lagers before being served slowly braised Rangers Valley beef cheeks with celeriac and cauliflower puree, kumara crisps and a Pedro Ximenez reduction. The mouthwatering beef cheeks helped to further distance the clubs memories of what is now known as “The Great Pork Debacle of 2016 (for similar reading revert to “Beef Prawns 2014”). The meal was paired superbly with a 2013 Cabirol Grenache/Shiraz from the Montsant region and for a few hours Brisbane had been transformed into Barcelona.

“Peasant truly believe that people have forgotten that restaurants should be as much about food as about having a good time – and boy if you come to our house can we show you a good time.” This ethos certainly fits well with the ideals of BBC and the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

We would like to formally welcome our newest member Joe Wicking. Wicking’s acceptance brings the total number of legal professionals in the club to 386.

BBC (Aurora Chapter) would like to again thank Boris and his team for splendid evening.  As usual the debate over the true Beef Capital of Australia will continue to rage at our next meating Thursday 2 June 2016 at Embers (http://embers.com.au/).
