The Brisbane Chapter of the Beef and Burgundy Club held the first Meating for the year at Les Bubbles restaurant and bath house in February.

Les Bubbles is situated on the fringe of the Fortitude Valley Food, Drink and Entertainment precinct in Brisbane and is housed within a building with a sordid history made famous during the Fitzgerald Inquiry into corrupt practices of state leaders in the late 1980’s.

As a newly refurbished Parisian Steakhouse the venue serves one signature dish, the ‘Steak Frites’ and complements it with a decent red wine list, the feature wine for the night was the Devil’s Elbow 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon which originates from the Adelaide Hills. The generous staff topped up the tables gratis post meal with a very drinkable house Grenache, 2015 from Mclaren Vale labeled ‘Little Wick’

On the night the club members were seated on a number of adjacent booths and tables which, whilst a little cozy, made for easy banter over the meal and wine questions as well as heated debate about the photos overlooking the seating, especially that of the full size desk portrait of Joh.

All were impressed by the consistency in quality and cooking of the succulent Rib Eye Fillet steaks which exceeded expectations and were served in very quick succession, accompanied by bread, salad and an unending service of the the ‘frites’.

Les Bubbles is certainly a venue suited to groups enjoying a big night out; with fantastic Rib Eye Fillet, heavily seasoned salads and fries and a social atmosphere close to many of Brisbane best drinking venues. A great choice to take friends for a solid meal before heading out on the town.
