On Thursday 6 October, 12 members of the Aurora chapter of the Beef and Burgundy Club attended the Dalgety Public House in Tenerife for the October meating, arranged by acting Beef Master Jamie Kerr.

Members were treated to a sumptuously well cooked Wagyu rump and a delightful French Syrah, which was accompanied by the House’s ever popular sweet potato fries in blue cheese sauce.   Responses to the food and service were uniformly positive – with members commenting on the skill demonstrated by the kitchen in cooking the wagyu beef to an ideal state and complimenting the natural succulence of the locally sourced beef.

The staff at the Dalgety Public House were always attentive to member’s needs and there was never an empty glass left unfilled.  Mic, Stacey and the team have the gratitude of all the membership in attendance for their good work.

Carl Blunck was the winner on the night and was proudly awarded the (brief) honour of displaying the BeefChamp Belt.  Special kudos to Senior Member Scott Quinlan for concluding the entire evening without touching a drop of wine – members are encouraged to donate to his Ocsober adventures.

This refurbishment of one of Brisbane’s best placed venues was highly appreciated, and the Dalgety Public House will be a serious contender for venue of the year 2016.

Felix Ramsay-Rickard is Beef Master for November and will be under pressure to deliver in his inaugural donning of the Beef Master’s robes.
